Hrithik To Unveil Madame Tussauds Statue Next Week in London

Next week, Hrithik Roshan will be the fifth Bollywood celebrity to be honored in wax at the famous Madame Tussauds in London. The wait for his fans to see him face-to face with his wax statue will end on the 20th of January when he will unveil the wax staute at Madame Tussauds. "I don't really have the words to articulate what it feels like. Being bestowed this honor is overwhelming," said award winning actor Hrithik Roshan when it was announced that the world famous attraction will hold his new wax figure in London.

Hrithik Roshan was measured for his new wax figure in both Mumbai and London. He flew down to London with wife Sussane Roshan and stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania for additional measurements and to decide the look of his wax statue. He tweeted in September 2010 while visiting the Madame Tussauds London office that he is undecided on the look. The options he gave to his fans were "Suit" or "Dhoom". It is a four-month process to create a life like figure of the stars that are represented at the museum. The first step is to craft a perfect clay sculpture from which the moulds are made to make an amazingly life like wax figure. They take over 500 precise body measurements to create the sculpture. Then it is over to a team of skilled hair and colour artists to insert the hair by hand and build up life like skin tones using layer upon layer of oil paint; every freckle, mole, dimple and wrinkle are accurately reproduced. Hrithik's pose will be kept top secret until launch day but the top London attraction is promising one of its most daring ever figures.

Hrithik will follow in the footsteps of other Bollywood giants Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, all of whom feature in the attraction in London. He is the youngest male actor from India to get this honour who only started working in the Indian Film Industry just over a decade ago. His first film Kaho Na Pyaar Hai was released today on the 14th of January 2000.

Liz Edwards, PR Manager at Madame Tussauds London commented: "Our Bollywood area is one of the most colourful and popular in the entire attraction - particularly with our Asian visitors. We want to ensure we continue reflecting the very best of Bollywood so we're delighted Hrithik will be joining the line up in 2011. His string of awards, box office hits and huge fan base make him a modern day icon and he truly deserves his place in the attraction."
