Hrithik Roshan donates for treatment of CHD children

Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan today made a donation for the treatment of 10 children suffering from congenital heart defect (CHD) . The actor, who launched Seven Hills Hospital's 'Save a Heart' programme for children with CHD in the western suburb of Andheri, said he was overwhelmed, proud and happy to be part of the initiative.

''I pledge my support in whatever form that may be required. We must remember we are saving a child and securing our future,'' Roshan said.
The actor also danced and interacted with child patients to the delight of the audience.
A congenital heart disorder is a defect in the structure of the heart and great vessels which is present at birth. In India, there are an estimated 180,000 children born with CHD every year, with 60,000 - 90,000 suffering from critical CHD requiring early treatment. 10 percent of the country's infant mortality can be accounted by CHD alone.
